Is 6 dollars worth it?
"CAN YOU DIG IT?" For $5.68 you definitely can, you can even own it at that price! Let's talk about if it's worth it though, let's dig into the big question "Is physical media even worth it anymore?"
This week I picked up a copy of The Warriors (1979) and I will openly admit that before this purchase I had never seen this film "OOOH call it a party foul" I will definitely take the penalty all my fault. Now I have seen enough parodies to have a good idea of what this film is about but seeing the film is just something I had never done. So I picked this one up at Wal-mart for $5.68 before tax and gave it a watch. So let's look at the purchase and decide is this worth purchasing?
The rating is based on 5 points getting a max of 1 point for each category. The categories are;
- CASE QUALITY
- COVER ARTWORK
- DISC ARTWORK
- EXTRAS IN THE CASE
- BANG FOR BUCK (heavily opinionated)
The Warriors - 1979 - 1/5
The quality of this case is terrible, at a quick glance it appears to be your typical Blu-ray case but in the hand you can definitely tell there is a lot of plastic missing from this case. This is just another company claiming to go green but in reality they are just trying to cut corners.
The art work on this film hasn't changed since it's DVD days. It's iconic and that's wonderful but reality is this definitely could be improved.
DISC ARTWORK ✔
Honestly i was surprised to not see a gigantic bluray banner on this disc. The artwork here is nothing to write home about but it does give inspiration for a custom cover to be made. This is the only check this film will be getting.
EXTRAS IN THE CASE
It's no surprise that the inside is bare I mean there is barley any plastic left inside this case what would we expect them to give us?
BANG FOR BUCK
This was hard to say this film didn't deserve a check on this because yes this movie is a must see and a nice addition to any collection but, currently you can watch this film on multiple streaming platforms including Hulu if you have a subscription. The quality isn't as good but the film is the same so due to this i chose not to give this film the check here.
